RahulOS - Interactive macOS Portfolio
A fully interactive recreation of macOS Sequoia in the browser with a working terminal, file manager, text editor, and window system.
Role: Frontend Engineer. Team: Individual. Status: Live. Year: 2026.
Overview
RahulOS is a fully interactive recreation of macOS Sequoia in the browser. It starts with a boot sequence and login screen, then opens into a working desktop with draggable windows and real apps.
The terminal supports real commands, the file manager lets users browse a virtual file system, and the text editor can open and edit files. I also built a Safari-style project browser, Settings app, Spotlight-style command palette, and small easter eggs throughout the system.
Stack:
- Frontend: React, TypeScript, and Vite
- State: Zustand
- Styling: Tailwind CSS and CSS custom properties
